The 2013 California’s Employer Guide (DE 44) is now available. It is full of useful information for new and existing employers. It provides answers to such basic questions as:
- Who is an employer?
- Who is an employee?
- What are state payroll taxes?
- What are wages subject to withholding?
Furthermore, it provides required forms, due dates, and flow charts to getting set up with the state of California.
Also, starting this year, the California Employment Development Department (EDD) will no longer be automatically mailing a paper copy to all existing employers. If you wish to continue to receive a paper copy each December/January, you must go online and submit a request for the annual mailing.
